Down Week

After the week I had two weeks ago, wiith 4 interviews and a lot of other stuff that had to be done, I knew that I would need some downtime to recover. What I didn't realize was that my immune system was going to make that decision for me. After Guy Fawkes weekend, I had one last 5-hour interview with one consulting firm on Monday. (I had already received a good batch of rejections after some other interviews to really put me in the spirit.) When I woke up on Monday morning, I felt a slight bit under the weather, but pulled a suit on and dragged myself down to the office
Over the course of the interview (which consisted of a written test, a roleplay and two cases) I felt worse and worse. By the time I left I was sweating, shivering and unable to form a coherent sentence. When I finally got home, I was in full-on flu. The rest of the week consisted of little sleep, deleriousness, every possible symptom of illness and being unable to eat.
Fortunately, I was able to get better enough to go to Paris as was planned, however I definitely was not in the best state of mind for tourism. We got back today and I need to now catch up on all the missed work and prepare for another interview on Wednesday. My priority is to get back into better health which may mean taking it as easy as possible. Unfortunately, I am off to Paris again next weekend with the Rugby Club. I'm sure that will do wonders for my immune system.
